Lewis-Gray

A pretty wedding was solemnized Saturday morning, at half after nine, in the West Grove Methodist Church, when Miss Helen Gray, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gray, of West Grove, PA, became the bride of Carl Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Lewis, also of West Grove, PA.

The church was simply, but effectively decorated with baskets of summer flowers. The bridal music was played by Miss Anna Drennen, of West Grove, and Miss Mary Kenney, of the same place, sang "Oh, Promise Me," before the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Roger C. Stimson, pastor of the church, in the presence of about one hundred guests from southern Chester county, Malvern, Kirkwood, Manlius, NY, and St. Augustine, Fla.

Miss Beatrice Gray, sister of the bride, Miss Ruth Lewis, sister of the groom, and Miss Martha Littler, of Manlius, NY, a cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids, and the bride's sister, Miss Mary Gray, the maid of honor. The attendants wore frocks of chiffon in yellow, blue, pale pink, and rose pink, and carried bouquets of roses and larkspurs.

The bride entered alone, wearing a gown of white chiffon over white taffeta, made princess style, and with cape shoulders. She wore the tulle veil which her aunt wore 20 years ago, and carried an arm bouquet of white roses and babies' breath.

Sherman Gray, of Langhorne, a cousin of the bride, was best man and the ushers were Carleton Gray, Chester Lewis, and William Dodd, who is the president of the Sunday School class of boys, of which the bride is the teacher. Following the ceremony the bridal party received in the lecture room of the church. After a wedding trip by automobile, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis make their home on a farm, near West Grove, PA.
