Note: My Mom and Dad met Clifford and his wife Sadie around 1947. My Dad had broke his leg in an explosion where he worked and couldn't drive his standard shift automobile. Clifford was driving a taxi at that time and my parents took the cab for doctor appointments. Clifford and Sadie didn't live far from where my parents lived. Both on Main St. in the North End of Springfield. Clifford and Sadie lived behind the old Mickey Mouse Cafe near the former A & P store. My parents lived about a block away. They became friends right away, Clifford always brought his wife with him on taxi runs. Then my Dad let Clifford drive his car. Friends forever. Sadie was like a sister to my mother Florence. Happy go Lucky and funny. Sadie would babysit my sister and I when we went home for lunch from school, while my Mom went for an appointment. Lots of good memories. Love, Roberta (Schott) Cyr
