According to Louis Rodney's death record he was born in Pike River, Quebec, Canada but Pike River was not established until 1912. Stanbridge Station is near Pike River and Louis's brother, John Rodney, was born in Stanbridge so perhaps Louis was as well.

Louis married Clema Amelia Rose on July 3, 1853 at St Joseph Co-Catheral in Burlington, Vermont. Marriage information was listed in Louis's Civil War records which were obtained from
from the National Archives.
