Lucinda Taylor was raised in Hendricks County, Indiana, the daughter of Johnathan Taylor and Jane Owen. In 1874 she married William Shirley in Terre Haute, IN. After his death she lived with her daughter Georgia and son in law August Kotsch, and moved to Los Angeles, CA with them after the turn of the century.
