Del had been employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Co. and the city of Merrill Street Department for 12 years. He later bought the Avenue Bar, which he and his wife operated for 20 years. He then worked at the Lincoln County Bank for eight years. Del served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Zastrow) Ament, Merrill; one son, Rickey (Barb) Ament, Merrill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday November 13, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Burial took place in Merrill Memorial Park.
