Mr. James Stuart Abercrombie, age 79, of Douglasville, Ga. passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2011. He was born December 12, 1931, in Douglasville, Ga. son of the late Roy and Minnie Faye Leathers Abercrombie. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Walton Abercrombie, his son, Tony Abercrombie, brothers, William J. Abercrombie and Mike Abercrombie, sisters, Martha Lowery and Madeline Abercrombie. Mr. Abercrombie was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from General Motors Lakewood Plant and attended the Douglasville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Tom Walton of Douglasville, Ga., Pam and Kirk Lunde of Douglasville, Ga., Julie and Heath Mulkey of Winston, Ga.; brothers, Donald and his wife Ann Abercrombie, Sammy and his wife Linda Abercrombie, David Abercrombie; sister, Evelyn Humphries; brother-in-law, Stewart Lowery; sister-in-law, Carolyn Abercrombie; grandchildren, Justin Abercrombie, Anna Walton, Carly Walton, Natalie Hall, Collin Lunde, Jared Mulkey, Harrison Mulkey, Seth Mulkey; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, July 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Abercrombie, Jeff Abercrombie, Sam Abercrombie, Mikey Abercrombie, Tim Abercrombie, and Tommy Lowery.
