Uncle Henry went to Salt Lake City, Utah in October 1900. His nephew George Langston took him to Goldsboro, N. C. where he took a train to Salt Lake City, Utah. After he was baptised in 1898, he came back in 1910 to serve a mission in the Southern States Mission. He baptised Gertrude on July 21, 1911, Mable Mitchell on Aug 11, 1911. who were his sister Loue's children. He went on several missions back to the Southern States Mission. The last time was in 1944. On November 1944 he went back to the home place in Wayne, N. C. and the cemetery. Then on to Richmond, to see his sisters Loue, Dysena and Mable along with other members of the church he had visisted with on his previous missions. He also saw Loue's other children: Muriel, Gertrude, Bertha.

This would make him leaving in 1900 to go to Salt Lake. In the same letter he also refers to having loss 5 half sisters, 1 half brother, 2 own sisters and six brothers and sisters in law. He also goes on to say: "I have 6 living children, 3 of whom are married and 3 are at home with me. The youngest is nearly 16, she being an infant 3 weeks old when my wife died. I have 4 living grandchildren. My two married sisters who live here in Utah have large families. My youngest married sister has a son in his 3rd. year of medicine at the Penn State University in Philadelphia, Pa and my brother Gary has three daughters, all of which are married. He also was first counselor to M. G. Radford who was the first president to the Branch located in Radford Cross Roads, Wayne, N. C. This was organized in December 1898. They were set apart by Elder Levia Swenson and Elder David H. Elton. This event occurred in Mary and Ruffin his parents home.
