SCOTTSBLUFF - Norval S. Reno, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Beverly Health Care. He was born May 1, 1916, at Gordon, to William S. and Alyce S. (Higgins) Reno.
He married Ida W. Gerdes on Febr. 25, 1940, at Alliance. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Masonic Blue Lodge, Alliance Scottish Rite, Alliance Eastern Star, and the Cattle Capital Shrine Club. He was the owner and operator of the Texaco Bulk Service at Alliance and also enjoyed farming. He is survived by his wife, Ida Reno of Alliance; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Susan Reno of Omaha, William and Sandi Reno of Alliance, and Russell and Julie Reno of Lincoln; daughter, Judy Ehernberger of Denver, Colo.; and daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Sam Kline of Gering eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his brother Emery Reno of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Myrtle Johnson of Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Everett, and a son-in-law, John Ehernberger. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at the United Methodist Church, with Rev. Leighton Mekeal officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
