U.S. Congressman. He attended the University of Arizona, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Sheldon Science of Business Chicago and the University of California, settling in Los Angeles. He was a surveyor for the Southern Sierras Power Company and employment in the California office of the Southern Pacific Railroad, (1909-10). He was involved in the real estate business, served on the Santa Monica Planning Commission, (1923-27) and on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, (1936-39). In 1939, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and Seventy-seventh Congresses, serving until 1943. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his real estate business until his death at age 72.
