Sidney Awalt was a prisoner of war in World War II in PW Camp #4 - O'Donnel Tarlac Luzon Philippines.

He lived to return to the United States and was shot and killed in 1956 after an altercation at the Red Top Fishing Camp, San Leon, Texas.
