---(c)1994-2011 t.a. reising-derby---
[*-When the local O.G.S. compiled the 1980's Lorain County Cemeteries book, they didn't do any personal transcriptions in the cemetery itself, because (..which I learned a few years ago when questioning the persons in charge of adding this cem. to the book) it turns out they "got ejected at gunpoint" by an adjacent land-owner.
As a result, the 1980's book data for this cemetery was simply copied from the earlier 1930's D.A.R. record.
But because the Cemeteries book mentions nothing about the source for the data that was published about this cemetery....therefore the book makes it appear as though they actually did a new inventory at that time (1980-ish).
Subsequently, in 1993, later members of the O.G.S. used that very same early 1930's D.A.R. list when they finally attempted a new inventory in 1993; but that 1993 inventory was again cut short by the adjoining land-owner; with only 11 headstones being inventoried in 1993.
Therefore, my independent 1994 inventory is the first one that was extensive since the 1930's; and any headstones which were missing in 1994, were probably missing long before 1980.
So it is fortunate that we have the 1930's D.A.R. list, because some of the missing headstones may never be recoverable.]
