Michelle 'Missy' Pettigrew Dennis of Parkesburg Michelle "Missy" Pettigrew Dennis, 47, of Parkesburg, formerly of Paoli, passed away, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at home. She was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Ernestine Pettigrew. She was the wife of Steven J. Dennis with whom she shared two years of marriage. Born in Bryn Mawr, Michelle was educated in the Tredyffrin Easttown public schools and graduated from Conestoga High School in 1982. She attended the University of Maryland. A veteran, she served two years in the U.S. Air Force until she was honorably discharged. She enjoyed watching movies, reading, writing poetry and spending time with her family. She is survived by six children, Michael Turner of Parkesburg, Thomas Jackson of Coatesville, Elijah, Isaiah, Candice and Naomi Mitchell of Coatesville; four brothers, Roosevelt (Carolyn) Pettigrew, Jr. of Coatesville, Robert (Sharon) Pettigrew of Woodbury, N.J., Alvin (Crystal) Pettigrew of Royersford, James (Nidian) Pettigrew of Plymouth Meeting; two sisters Audrey Pettigrew of Norristown and Bessie Pettigrew of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be no public viewing. Burial services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 1, at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa. Family and friends will leave in procession from the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Wright Funeral & Cremation Services of Coatesville.
