Henry R. Ely Jr., Poplar Bluff, died Nov. 24 at Doctors Regional Medical Hospital in Poplar Bluff at the age of 55. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in St. Francois County to the late Henry Ely Sr. and Mildred Coburn Ely who survives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Marie Barnes Ely.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Ely of Ness City, Kan., and 12 children; Danny Ely of Greenriver, Wyo., Terry Ely, of Greenriver, Wyo., Sandra (Mrs. Clyde) Hoehn of Elvins, Patricia (Mrs. Donald) DeClue of St. Louis, Ronnie Ely of Farmington, Billy Ely of Bismarck, Robert Eloy of Iron Mountain, Debra (Mrs. Jeff) Graves of Potosi Cheryl (Mrs. Bill) Gaffney of La Porte, Texas, Karren Hilleman of Illinois, Dennis Ely and Tammy Ely, both of Poplar Bluff, a sister, Letty Huff of Ness City, Kan., two brothers; Melvin Ely of Farmington and Frank Ely of Wyoming and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Cozean Chapel with the Rev. Shana officiating. Burial will be in Doe Run Memorial Cemetery.
