"In the year 1837, on the 22nd day of September, my father (John Hoover) moved with all his family, except Elizabeth and Catherine, who remained in Canada, to Medina County, Ohio.
My Grandfather (Martin G. Hoover) went with us.

In the year 1846, my father again sold his property in Ohio, and with the remainder of his family moved to Elkhart County, Indiana.

My grandfather again went with him, who later died in October, 1849 at the advanced age of 88 years and 10 months, and was buried at Yellow Creek.

In the year 1865 my father again sold his farm, and in company with brother David and his family, they moved to St. Joe Co., IN, near Lakeville."
