John A. "Jack" Gordon -ROCHELLE - Mr. John A. "Jack" Gordon, age 81, of 1871 Christian Hill Road, Rochelle, passed away Sunday, May 27 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Wednesday, May 30 in the Christian Home Baptist Church. The Rev. David Clark and Rev. Joey Owens will officiate. Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery.
Mr. Gordon was born on March 16, 1926 in Wilcox County. He was son of the late John Wright Gordon and Callie Bruce Gordon. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Christian Home Baptist Church, the Wilcox County American Legion Post #71 and was Secretary/Treasurer of the Wilcox County Democratic Party and was a former member of the Wilcox County Tax Assessors Board. He served his country with honor during World War II in the United States Army. -Survivors include wife, Mavis Gordon of Rochelle; daughter, Marie (Brad) Bartholomew of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law, Jeanette Gordon of Rochelle; Grandson, Jonathan Thomas Bartholomew of Tampa, Florida; and granddaughter, Kristina Lee Bartholomew of Tampa, Florida.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 29 in the Funeral Home.
