Mayerl, Jospeh L.
Age 79, died on December 10, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born in Cato on December 24, 1922, son of the late Frank and Emily (Weiss) Mayerl. On June 8, 1943, he married Marvis Jane Kabat in Reedsville. Joe served in the United States Army Medical Corp during World War II. He worked at Green Bay Paper Converting, retiring in 1986.
Joe is survived by his wife Marvis Jane, a son, Joseph (Mary) Mayerl of Valrico, FL; a daughter, Karen (and friend Larry Temby) Mayerl of Madison; five grandchildren: Sara Money, Katie Mayerl; Brian (Dana), Jansen, and Greta (Tony) Pena, and Devin (and friend Amy Lambright) Jansen: four great-grandchildren: Jessica, Lorena, Samantha, and Mollyjo Pena; a sister, Marge Spanbauer of Green Bay; four sisters-in-law: Marion Mayerl of Whitelaw, Marie (Robert) Makoutz of Brookfield, Catherine Kabat of Green Bay, Mickey (Ralph) Breit of Brillion, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, three infant children: Mark, Mary Beth, and Frances Mayerl; two brothers: Paul and John Mayerl; two sisters: Marie (Bill) Delsman and Helen Scott; and a brother-in-law, Harold Spanbauer; and three inlaws: Bernard "Bud" (Eleanor) Kabat, Bill Kabat, and Maxine Kabat Carter.
