From Tom Dillard's article "Tragedy in the Family" , Arkansas Democrat Gazette 2/17/2013:

Died by her own hand. New York Times described her as "a well known and very popular figure in (Washington, D.C.) society". Had exhibited psychological problems before her suicide. Once disappeared, only to turn up days later in Baltimore. At that time described as "aged twenty-three, tall, stout, dark eyes and hair" and wearing "several diamonds".
