Obit in the Vindicator, Dec 1922, p 377-78:
Blocher---Malinda Blocher, nee Miller, was born in Darke Co., Ohio, near Palestine, in the year 1846, Mar. 16. She united with the church at the age of 16 years. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage with Isaac Blocher. To this union were born 12 children two of which died in infancy. Five Boys and five Girls are living, namely: Amanda Hufford, George, Eliza Beachler, Adam, Albert, Eva Wray, Daniel, Annie Wise, Simon, and Mary Pollock. Sixty-nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grand children. she was married at the place of her birth. They moved to Wabash Co., Ind. and lived on the same farm for 23 years. Then they moved to Jasper Co. (same state) and resided there for 13 years, after which they came to N. Dak. After living here about 1 1/2 years the husband died of smallpox. Sister Blocher was active in carrying on the work of the home until about seven years ago when she suffered a light paralytic stroke. After this she spent much of her time visiting not only among her children but also the many friends she made by her kindness in deed and action. She lived a consistent Christian life. She kept the Faith until her journey's end and left many footprints on the "sands of time" which will be way marks to us that are still on our pilgrim journey. There are living one Brother and one Sister together with six half brothers and three half sisters. Grandma was visiting at the home of her Granddaughter, Lizzie Wagoner, when she was stricken with Diabetis and lived only 2 days. She died on the 21st day of Oct. 1922 at the ripe old age of 76 years, 7 mo. and 5 days. Thus has passed a life that has been filled with usefulness. May we all strive to imitate this Mother in Israel. She enlisted under King Emanuel about 60 years ago and has been fighting the battles of the Lord all thru this long life; but the battle is over; may she rest in peace and hear the call when Jesus comes. Funeral conducted by Bro. Solomon Stoner, from Second Tim. 4:7 and 8, assisted by the writer, to a very large and sympathizing congregation of relatives and friends. A.E. Miller.
