William Garland "Bill" Bentley,
88 of Cynthiana died Monday July 25, 2011 at the Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus.
Mr. Bentley was born October 16, 1922 in Pike Co., KY a son of the late Doris and Cora Daugherty Bentley. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Assembly of God Church, was an honorably discharged Army veteran having served his country during WWII, and served as a deputy sheriff in Pike Co. He enjoyed racoon hunting and horses.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Marie Bentley, sisters Hazel Price and Bernice Stacey, a brother Marvin Rube Bentley and his son in law J. B. Sanders.
Mr. Bentley is survived by his daughter Sharon Sanders of Cynthiana, his grandsons James William (Laura Lee) Sanders of Cynthiana, Christopher Neal Sanders, great grandsons Jackson Bentley Sanders and Jacob Daniel Sanders of Cynthiana and a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday July 28, 2011 at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Larry Lee Jones. Burial will follow the service in the Salem Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
