Mr. David Farthing, of Butler, Tennessee, one of Johnson County's poplar and beloved citizen citizens, died at his home on Thursday last, his death occurring almost instantly. Deceased is a brother-in-law of Mr. W. C. Coffey and Miss Jennie Coffey, of Boone, and leaves a large circle of near relatives and friends in Watauga who will hear of his demise with genuine sorrow. Big hearted, jovial; a true friend, a loyal citizen and above all, a christian gentleman - such was the life of David Farthing. He leaves no family save a wife, who has the unstinted sympathy of all this, her great sorrow.
