Claude E. Bartholomew, 55, well-known bricklayer, died at 7:30 a.m. May 14, 1941 at the family home, 1314 Fifth Avenue. Born in Iola, Kansas, he had resided in Lafayette, IN since 1888 and was a member of the bricklayers union. His marriage to Marie Altherr took place Oct. 11, 1903. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Surviving are the widow, seven children: Mrs. Bruce L. Elrod, Raymond Y., Roy, Roger, Paul and James of this city and Mrs. James Riley, Louisville; a half-brother, George Bartholomew, also a half- sister, Mrs. Maude Drinkwater, both of Little Rock, Ark.
Soller-Baker funeral home. Services at St. James Church, Rev. P. G. Schmidt officiating, burial in Spring Vale.
