James T. Haughton passed away on 19 Jul 2011 at the Northern Inyo Medical Center in Bishop, CA. He was 62.
Jim lived and dedicated nearly his entire life to the town and people of Searles Valley.
He left the community only for a brief time to pursue his secondary education, then returned to enlighten generations of Trona High School Students as their teacher and mentor. He retired in 2010.
Jim married Sheila Gail Baker in 1972. They would have been married 40 years this coming January.
Their daughter Lindsey was born in the fall of 1985.
The limitless of Jim's generosity and compassion will be desperately missed by all the people who were touched by his life.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Haughton of Trona; daughter Lindsey Haughton of Guerneville, CA; father James W. Haughton of Trona; brother Thomas Haughton of Benton City, WA; and sister Margaret Bishop of Puyallup, WA.
