Topeka State Journal Wed. 2 June, 1971, pg 10:
Jacob A. Dickinson, 59, Topeka, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Tues. He had an apparent heart attack.
He was an attorney in Topeka many years and was a member of the law firm of Dickinson, Crow and Skoog.
He was born July 20, 1911 at Independence, MO. and was graduated from the Univ. of Kansas in 1932 and received his law degree from Washburn Univ.
He was executive vice president and general counsel of Steel Fixtures Manufacturing Co.
He served from 1943 to 1945 in the Navy as an Aircraft Intelligence Officer in the SW Pacific and held the rank of Lt.
He was special assistant attorney general of the US in 1942 and 1943 and earlier served as chairman of the Shawnee Co. Democratic Comm. He was a member of the Topeka Bd. of Ed. 4 years and was president of the board from 1950 to 1952.
He was a member of the Topeka Bar Ass'n, KS Bar Ass'n. and American Bar Ass'n. He was also a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Phi Gamma Delta Frat., Topeka Lodge No.17, AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Arab Shrine.
He and his wife, Edith, lived in Topeka since 1932. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, J.A.Dickinson II, Topeka, a daughter, Mrs. Linda Spalding, Honolulu, HA; 3 brothers, Martin B Dickinson, Kansas City, MO., William B. Dickinson,Philadelphia,PA.; and Col. Hillman Dickinson, Washington, DC,now in Vietnam; and 5 grandchildren.
Wall-Differenderfer Mrotuary is in charge with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
