Born on March 27, 1929, in Booneville, MS to Elbert Elam and Jessie Mae Westbrook Huddleston, Wiley Huddleston spent his early years in Booneville. The family then moved to Georgia in 1936, eventually settling in Chatsworth, GA where he attended Eton Grammar School and Murray County High School.
Wiley served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from March 1949 to October 1952, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and receiving training in the installation and maintenance of aircraft electronics. In 1955, he was hired as an electronic technician by Lockheed Corporation in Marietta, GA where he was a loyal and valued employee until his retirement in 1992 after 37 years of service.
In retirement, Wiley first moved back to Chatsworth, GA where he lived for several years then returned to his childhood home in Booneville, MS where he spent his last years. Wiley was an avid gardener and musician, playing the mandolin, the guitar and (although others might disagree) the fiddle, with a special love of gospel and bluegrass music. Wiley raised two children who are very proud to call him "Daddy", he was active in his church and was ordained Baptist deacon. Although we never said it enough, we love you Daddy and will miss you more than you can know.
