Paul served as a Staff Sergeant on B-24D "Liberty Lass" #41-23732, 409th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Snohomish County, Washington prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 17, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, without dependents.

Paul was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed near Plouarzel, north west of Brittany, France during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in St. James - Avranches, France and was later repatriated here on October 6, 1949.
