In the 1900 census, James, Marticia and the family were living in Dosons Crux, Hawkins, Tennessee (where Dosons Crux was hasn't been determined) James was farming a rented farm.
The 1910 census revealed that Marticia and James had their son, Alfred, his wife Nellie and grandson, Francis, living with them. Also in the household was another grandson Orville Bryant. They was living in Green County, where Jim was still farming rented land.
On July 8, 1918 and family were saddened by the death of their dear James Orville Cupp. The the cause of death on the death certificate is hard to determine. It revealed the place of his death only as Green Co, Tennessee. His body was taken to the A.J. Steward undertakers to be prepared for burial on July 9, 1918. Martricia gathered her family and friends at his grave site to bid their dearly beloved Jim farewell.
Just 3 years later, on Sept. 8, 1921, God called for Marticia's spirit to return to her Maker. Her death certificate revealed that her father's name was Jesse Heck, born in Tennessee and Mary Crowder also born in Tennesee, other sources say she was born in Virginia.
Marticia's earthly body was taken to A. J. Steward's undertakers to be prepared for burial. Her family and friends gathered at her grave site next to her husband, James, to bid her farewell and Rest in Peace. (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
