Cynthia Patterson Lowe, age 87 of Huntsville departed this life on Saturday September 8, 2012 at the Huntsville Manor. Born in Briceville, Tennessee on April 6, 1925 to the late Clark and Nancy Belle Harness Patterson. She was a lifelong member of the Smokey Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Henry (Smokey) Lowe; sons Alfred Lowe, John Lowe and Ray Lowe; grand-daughter Sonya Lynette Sexton; Grand father and Grandmother who raised her, William Thomas Harness and Amanda Phillips Harness; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Alfred and Kizzie Lowe; sisters Delilah Patterson Harness and Daisy Patterson; brothers William Bill Patterson, Tom Patterson, Coolidge Patterson and Lonas Patterson; a sister-in-law whom she thought of as a sister, Cordelia Lowe Massengale, Hazel Lowe, Desliee Lowe, Janice Lowe, Dorothy Lowe and Wanda Lowe; brother-in-laws Clifton Massengale, Odas Lowe, Ellis Lowe, Florenza Lowe, Onas Lowe and Arlie Lowe.

Survived by her children, whom she loved dearly, Moses and Lillie Mae Lowe of Huntsville, Delford and Beatrice Lowe of Smokey Junction, Ben and Linda Lowe of Dunkirk, Indiana, Kenny Lowe of Huntsville, Mary and Danny Sanders of Somerset, Kentucky, Ruth and L.B. Crabtree of Huntsville, Easter Lowe of Rocky Face, Georgia, Aaron and Judy Lowe of Monterey, Tennessee, Silas and Billie Lowe of Dalton, Georgia and Paul Lowe of Oneida; brother Sammy Patterson of Ohio; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Lowe family on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. at the West-Murley Funeral Home’s Huntsville Chapel with Brothers Edmond Lowe and Bryan Strunk officiating. Music will be provided by the Mason Family. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the Smokey Creek Cemetery.
