Max J. Beyer, 81, R. R. 1, Waldron, retired farmer, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Major Hospital where he had been admitted March16. He had been in failing health three years.
Born Nov. 27, 1888, in Liberty Township, Mr. Beyer was the son of Josephand Lena (Foxbinder) Beyer. On Feb. 23, 1916 he married Regina Weintraut and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Lawrence Beyer, R. R. 1, Waldron; two daughters, the Misses Anna and Leona Beyer, at home; seven grandchildren; five brothers John, Leo, Paul, and Valentine Beyer, all of R. R. 6, Shelbyville, and Frank Beyer, R. R. 1, Waldron; and one sister, Mrs. Ceclia Hammerle, Indianapolis.
Two children, Martin and Lucille Beyer, and one brother, Nicholas Beyer, preceded in death.
A graduate of Indiana Business College in Indianapolis, Mr. Beyer spent his entire life farming in Liberty Township until retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and the Shelby County Farm Bureau.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Church with eh Rev. Anthony Seger officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may cal at the Ewing Mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Friday. The Rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Obit: Shelbyville News, Apr 2, 1970)
