Brenda Kay Barrett, 63, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011, in an Abilene nursing center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Tuscola with Pastor A. D. Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. A visitation will be held form 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.
Mrs. Barrett was born October 24, 1947, in Gorman, Texas to the late, Harvey and June Harris. She and Kenneth W. Barrett were married November 6, 1995, in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Barrett of Tuscola; a son, Terry T. Sliter and wife, Stephanie of Tuscola; a daughter-in-law, Corina Sliter of Tuscola; a brother, Harvey Harris of Abilene; two sisters, Linda Pearce of Hawley and Gayla Ross of Abilene; four grandchildren, Brendon Sliter, Katy Sliter, Braxton Sliter and Bryan Caudill, all of Tuscola; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dale Greenrock, Gabriel Villareal, Brock Isbell, Buster Davis, Rick McDonald and Kaleb Beasley.
