Lonnie Carlton Hadlock, age 69, of Lindon, passed away on July 24, 2011 surrounded by his family and loved ones from a sudden stroke.

Lonnie was born July 13, 1942 in South Gate, CA, a son of Reta Peterson and Don P. Hadlock. At the age of 2 he and his family moved to Orem, UT, he lived the rest of his life in Orem and Lindon. He graduated from Orem High School where he played football and was active in sports. Lonnie received scholarships to play college football, but chose to marry the love of his life, Rhea Norton on May 13, 1960. Their marriage was solemnized April 5, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lonnie was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved his 2 years serving as an ordinance worker at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple with his wife. Lonnie loved the outdoors and was an avid horseman. He bought his first horse when he was 15 years old and he rode horses until the time of his death.

Lonnie loved his family, family parties and music. He had a sharp wit and keen sense of humor, always making his family and friends laugh. He touched the lives of many people through his willingness to help anyone in need and his love for making new friends.

Lonnie is survived by his wife Rhea Hadlock, his children: Geneal (Kevin) Majors, Lonnie Scott (Denise) Hadlock, Susan Jensen, Lisa (Winnie) Thompson and Donald (Jamie) Hadlock, 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 6 brothers and 1 sister: Lowell (Lois) Hadlock, Jerry (Jackie) Hadlock, Rick (Diane) Hadlock, Vickie (Jim) Sands, Leo (Judy) Hadlock, Lynn (Lori) Hadlock and Lyle (Jan) Hadlock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Reta, brother, Donald and his nephew Joel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindon 2nd Ward Chapel 610 West 100 South, Lindon.

A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, and also Friday 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services at the ward chapel.

Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
