MONTPELIER, IDAHO – Doris Eliza Scheidigger Gambling, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 24, 1924 to Jesse and Della Grunig Scheidigger. She graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, in 1943.

In 1944 Doris married her high school sweetheart, Norman Gambling, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They began their marriage on the ranch in Sharon, where they lived for 47 years, during which time their son Steven Gambling was born.

Norman worked seasonally for the U.S. Forest service, and Doris worked as an office girl for the J. C. Penny Co. In 1991 they moved to Montpelier.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Norman Gambling; son Steven Gambling of Montpelier; grandchildren, Jesse Gambling of Evanston and Ashley Gambling Kratzberg of Canon City, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Gambling of Evanston and Steffen Kratzberg of Canon City, Colo.; nephews, John (Rhonda) Gambling and Lynn Gambling; nieces Karlene (Rich) Combs and Kathy (Brent) Gruvman.

Funeral services will be held in the Montpelier Fifth Ward LDS Chapel at noon April 12. Friends may call prior to services from 10 to 11:45 a.m.

There will be a night visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 11 at Matthews Mortuary. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery.
