Charles A. (Chuck) Dorman, age 82, of Knoxville passed away Friday afternoon, July 22, 2011.
Charles was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Charles was born in Sweetwater, Texas. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, was an active member of the Marine Corps League and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Charles was a 1959 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and was a retired Financial Advisor. He was an avid gardener and coin collector.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Dorman and brother, Frank Dorman.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 57 years, Ruth Dorman; daughters, Kathleen and Marianne; sons, Mark, Matthew and John; grandchildren, Katie, Mattison, Jayce, Hunter, Ryan and Shaun; sisters, LaVonne D'Agostino and Darlene Mehaffie; many nieces, nephews and beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Michael Woods celebrant. Graveside services with full military honors will also be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at East TN State Veterans' Cemetery.
