Sue's family and friends are saddened by their loss, but are lifted by Sue's spirit. She fought her battle with cancer with complete grace and dignity, the same qualities she exhibited through-out her life.
Sue was a native Atlantan, born September 11, 1937. She graduated from Murphy High School and attended Stephens College. As a native, she was involved in many activities around Atlanta. She served on the board of the Callanwalde Guild and was Treasurer for the Christmas at Callanwalde event for many years, was a Governor's Mansion Hostess, former editor of her community newspaper, the Smoke Signal, and was an instructor at the Atlanta Sewing Center where she shared her amazing embroidery and sewing talents with others. Her special handmade gifts are cherished by friends and family, especially her grandchildren. In addition, she and her husband of fifty-four years, Jack, are charter members of Smoke Rise Baptist Church, where they belong to the Seekers Sunday school class. Sue was instrumental in the establishment of the nursery program at Smoke Rise. Sue and Jack are accomplished dancers, including square, round and choreographed ballroom dancing. Over the past twenty years, they've traveled the world enjoying dancing and fellowship. Sue cherished her family and many friendships, especially her Lunch Bunch, and will be missed by all who knew her.
