Charles M. Stephens Sr., 55, of Bethlehem R.4, owner of an Bethlehem sanitation company, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of Lorraine T. (Schoenenberger) Stephens. He owned and operated the C. Stephens Sanitation Co., Bethlehem R.4, for more than 30 years . Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late John Stephens and Ella (Schaller) Stephens Heil. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon, Bethlehem R.5. Surviving are a daughter Bonnie of Bethlehem; a son, Charles Jr., at home; three brothers, Daniel Eisenhart of Lake Wallenpaupack, Wayne County, and LeRoy Stephens and John Stephens, both of Bethlehem R.4; five sisters, Evelyn, wife of Joseph Rosato, Doris, wife of George Holly, and Alice, wife of Wallace Wagner, all of Bethlehem, Delores, wife of George Hassick of Coopersburg, and Florence, wife of Henry Sherer of Walnutport; two stepsons, Richard D. Rumfield of Bethlehem R.4 and Norman A. Rumfield of Bethlehem; a stepdaughter, Debra L., wife of Gerald Svites of Bethlehem R.4, and four grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family in the Templeton- Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326 Main St., Hellertown. There will be no calling hours.
