Officer Donald Gohn, DSN 0760, was commissioned as a Police Officer with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department on 11/07/1955.

Upon graduation for the academy on 01/27/1956, he was assigned to the 6Th District in the old Walnut Park neighborhood on West Florissant Ave. He served in District 6 until 07/18/1977 when he was transferred downtown to Police Headquarters at the Prisoner Processing Division. Officer Gohn remained at Prisoner Processing until his retirement date of 04/18/1986. Officer Gohn served a total of 30.44 years on the department.

Officer Gohn was a veteran of the Armed Forces having proudly served in the United States Navy attaining the rank of Petty Officer 3Rd Class.

Beloved husband of Mary Lynette Gohn (nee Giblin); dear father and father-in-law of Tom Gohn, Jim (Lori) Gohn, Mary (Greg) Gibson and the late Gary Gohn and Donny Gohn; cherished grandfather of Donny, Amy, Kelly, Phillip, Cole, Gabrielle, Daniel and Alyssa; dear great-grandfather of Madyson, Danton and Zacary; dear brother of Joe (Helen) and Mary Dell and the late Hazel.

Donald served 30 years as a St. Louis Police Officer and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Services: Mr. Gohn will be in state Wednesday, July 27, 11:00 am at BUCHHOLZ SPANISH LAKE MORTUARY, 1645 Redman Ave. until time of funeral service at 12 noon same day.

Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
