Madge Irene Brown passed away February 10, 2010, at her home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri. Burial at Floral Hills Cemetery. Madge was born January 24, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Benjamin Butler Brown and Beulah Blanch VanDolah Brown. Madge graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent her working years as a secretary with her last position as an Administrative Assistant with the Seaboard Surety Company. She enjoyed classical music and movies of the 1930s and '40s. She was an avid reader with a large library and loved cats which she seemed to attract and care for much of her life. She was a stamp collector which she began at an early age. She enjoyed writing and always seemed to be working on what she said was the "Great American Novel." In her later years, she spent considerable time making large collages, mainly of pictures of cats she cut from magazines. She is survived by her brother, Benjamin L. Brown and her sister-in-law, Charlotte J. Brown, with whom she lived the past 25 years; nephews, Jeffrey L. Brown and Benjamin L. Brown, Jr.; nieces, Michelle C. Alexus, Julia L. Dizmang, and Jill M.
