Mary Jane Polson was born Nov. 12, 1858 in Marion County, Iowa, and died at Murray, Iowa, Jan 31, 1919. When about six years of age she removed with her parents to Warren county Iowa, and from there to this county. On April 11, 1878, she was united in marriage to Thos. V. Freeman. To this union four children were born. Mrs. Maggie Carns, who preceded her mother in death about five years ago, Johnnie T. Freeman of Bridgewater, Woodie F. Freeman of Gordon, Nebr., and Nellie who died in infancy. She belonged to the Christian church of Thayer and has always lived a devoted Christian life. Besides her children she leaves her husband, three brothers, Joe and Thos. Polson of Creston, E.B. Polson of Prescott and one sister, Mrs. Martha Cash of St. Joseph, Mo. Besides a host of other relatives and friends. The remains were brought from Murray Monday and funeral services held at North Chapel conducted by Rev. Penn of the M.E. church. Interment in Mt. Zion cemetery.
