BOPP Vera Sbisa Bopp passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the age of 96. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a charter member of the People Program. Vera was the wife of the late John M. Bopp and the daughter of the late Edwin V. Sbisa and Julia Frey Sbisa. Survivors include her three children: Alvin F. Bopp (Terresa), Jane E. Fink (Darrell) and John M. Bopp, Jr. (Anneliese). She was the loving grandmother of Melanie E. Bopp, Stacey R. Naeemullah (Imran), Natalie C. Bopp and the late Michael E. Canalizo. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Vera's nieces, Barbara Satterley and Julie Lachney, to Judy Nowalsky, and to the staff of River Region Hospice who made her final days peaceful. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 12:00 PM. Interment in Metairie Cemetery. Friends may visit after 10:00 AM.
