Ruth Melton, 78, of Campbell Hill, died Thursday in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 14, 1894, in Levan Township in Jackson County, the daughter of William C. and Sylvania Layman Mezo.
She was married to Clifford Smith. He preceded her in death. Later she married John Melton. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Elsie Smith of Campbell Hill; one grandson and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wilson Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Paul Holder officiating.
Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, near Ava,
Friends may call after 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
