Sudden Death of Mrs. N. E. Jones of Lowville.
Many hearts in Lowville are sad because of the sudden death of Mrs. N. E. Jones, which took place at her home on Edward Wilson's farm on Wednesday evening last at 6 o'clock. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, and many therefore feel that in her sudden death they have met with a personal loss. Up to Monday night no alarm was felt in regard to Mrs. Jones' condition. Peritonitis was the cause of her death. She was converted on her death bed, and after receiving the blessings from God she sang: Nearer the cross, my heart can say, I am coming nearer; Nearer the cross, from day to day, I am coming nearer; Nearer the cross where Jesus died, Nearer the fountain crimson tide, Nearer my Saviour's wounded side, I am coming nearer.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hall, of Cape Vincent, and was aged 23 years and 10 months. She leaves a bereaved husband, four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Chas. Ross, of Rosiere; Mrs. W. D. Henry, of Copenhagen; Mrs. W. H. Raymond, of Carthage; Miss Mae Hall, Frank and Herbert Hall, of Cape Vincent, and S. Hall, of Dexter, all of whom deeply mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at her home Saturday at 10 a. m., Rev. D. D. Dean officiating. The interment was made at Barnes Corners.
Dearest Fleta, thou hast left us, And thy loss we deeply feel, But we know you are with our dear Saviour, He can all our sorrows heal. Yes, he is so good and true we know he will forgive, Tears we shed, dear friend, for you.
And If you could tell us these words, we'd hear you say: Be good, my dear friends we will meet another day. Yes, we will meet another day, Where sorrows are no more, And I'll be there to meet you, On that bright and shining shore.
