She and James immigrated to the United States, leaving England , March 5, 1873, arriving in Salt Lake City, Utah April 1873. In the Summer of that same year, she and James, with their two young children, moved to Washington City, Utah, later moving to St. George.
She raised the following children:
Louisa B: Jan 4, 1871
James Joseph B: Feb 4, 1872
At the time of her death, December 19, 1932, she was living in the Salt Lake County Infirmary. She is buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
