Belle M.Culbertson,90,of South Sioux City,Neb.,died Thursday Dec.30,1999 at a Sioux City Hospital.Services will be 10:30a.m.Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Dakota City,with the Rev.Karen Kaye officiating.Burial in Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City,Neb.Mrs.Culbertson was born June 16,1900 in Dakota City,Neb.,the daughter of Edwin and mary E.Morgan.She graduated from Wayne State Normal College in 1920,and received her bachelor degree of arts degree from Morningside College in 1926.She married Joseph O.Culbertson on July 7,1926 in Dakota City.Due to the transfers with the department of Agriculture,the couple lived in Ponca and Lincoln,Neb.and Salt Lake City,St.Paul,Minn.,and Sliver Springs,Md.She taught school in Ponca,Homer,South Sioux City and Lincoln,Neb.He died April 29,1977 in Sliver Springs,Md.She returned to South Sioux City in 1978.She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Ladies Club,Golden Rod Club,Chatter Bid Bridge Club,and the Welcome Wagon Bridge Club.Survivors include a son Ward of South Sioux City,Neb.;several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by three brothers,Vern,William P.,and Edwin T.Morgan.Pallbears were Larry,Mike,Scott Morgan,and Brent Culbertson,Chris Knudsen,and A.Gene Closson.
