MRS. EDWIN C. BATTLES
Mrs. Emily Battles, 85, widow of Edwin C. Battles, South New Haven, died Wednesday Apr il 17, 1968 at Spencer nursing home. She was a member of New Haven Methodist church and of its women's organizations.

She was born at Kent, Sittingbourne, England, Sept. 26, 1882 and came to this country 75 years ago, from Canada. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Tuff Godden.

Mrs. Battles was a resident of the Oswego and New Haven areas most of her life.

Surviving are five sons, Emery of Fulton, Herbert C. of Oswego, RD,2, Lewis J. of Mexico, RD 2, Nelson F. of Fulton
and Edwin T. Battles, Oswego, RD 2; seven grandchildren and
six great grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. William C. Dodden at Alhambra Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Horr, Oswego and Mrs. Lewis J. (Mar i e) Payne of Watertown.

Funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Leonard Piepoli, were
held Saturday at the Dain funeral home in Oswego. Burial was in New Haven cemetery.
