Petaluma Girl, Relief Nurse, Dies in Europe.

California Girl Who Enlisted Last July Passes Away in England

Miss Viola E. Lundholm, a Petaluma girl, who enlisted as a Red Cross nurse with her sister, Ruth, in July, and who was sent overseas for duty, died in South Sea, England, October 12, according to word received yesterday by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Lundholm of Petaluma, from Ruth. The two sisters were alumnae of Merritt Hospital, Oakland, from which they were graduated in 1916.
They enlisted in the Red Cross service in July, went to Camp Cody for a month's further training, and then although members of different units left on the same transport together. The cause of the young nurse's death - she was only 22 - was not given although her sister said in the cable-gram that she was with her at the last. Ruth Lundholm is 24 years old.
Mr. and Mrs. Lundholm cabled last night for further information.
