George Larson, (Larsen) the engineer who was injured in the railroad wreck near Glover's Station on the River Falls road, died last week of his injuries. Pierce County Plaindealer 1-22-1883
DIED at River Falls, Wis., on the 21st day of January 1883, George Larson, late engineer on the Hudson and River Falls branch of the Chicago, St.Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railroad. Mr. Larson was a native of Norway and came to this country some years since, and has followed railroading most of the time since coming here. He was at the time of his death thirty-one years of age. As already stated in these columns, he was injured in a railway accident on this railroad, near Glover's Station. Hopes were then entertained of his recovery, as the nature of his injuries were uncertain and it was thought not serious, but time has proved that those opinions were ill-founded and that in fact he had suffered some internal injuries, which proved to be fatal.
Of a very genial disposition and faithful at this post of duty, Mr. Larson won many friends on the road, and will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves a widow and three young children to mourn his loss.
The funeral was held at his late residence on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Hamilton, of the M.E. church, conducting the services. A large number of friends attended at the house and joined the funeral cortege on its sad journey to the cemetery. 1-25-1883 River Falls Journal
