"MRS. COCHRANE'S DEATH FOLLOWS LONG ILLNESS
The entire community was saddened on Tuesday morning to learn of the death of Lucille Morill Cochrane, wife of E. L. Cochrane, Seattle attorney and state representative from the 30th district, who passed away following an illness of more than three years.
Mrs. Cochrane was a native daughter of Kent, born February 19, 1905, the family home being at 425 West Meeker street. She was the daughter of the late M. M. Morrill, a former prominent Kent citzen and Mrs. Anna Morrill, who survives her. She also leaves a little 4 year old son, Edward L. Cochrane Jr., two brothers and two sisters, Frederick, Howard, Mabel Cloud and Mary, all of Kent; two half brothers, Wesley Morrill and Clark Merrifield of Kent and a half sister, Mrs. Bertha Boyle of Colville.
Mrs. Cochrane was graduated from Kent high school in 1923, later attending the University of Washington. Her marriage to Mr. Cochrane in 1927 was the culmination of a college romance and united two prominent pioneer families of the White River valley.
Funeral services, under the direction of the Kent Funeral Home, were held Thursday morning, August 2 in the church of the Assumption in Seattle, the Rev. Father Lewis carey officiating. Burial took place in Calvary cemetery."
