Minnie Neumann was the family historian. She had a phenomenal memory and could recall at once the correct dates of all births, marriages, and deaths in the Neumann family. Minnie preceeded her husband in death.

OBITUARY
Mary Jane Grant was born at Cambridge, Henry County, Illinois, November 14, 1844, and died at her home in Exeter, Nebraska, March 25, 1926 at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 11 days. She was a member of a large family, being one of thirteen children. She married Fredrick Neumann April 2, 1864 at Bishop Hill, Illinois. They moved to Kansas in 1872 and lived in Missouri for a short time and came to Nebraska in 1886, living at Wymore, Pender and Sutton. They came to Exeter 25 years ago and this has since been their home. She was the mother of four children, three boys and one girl. Two of the boys preceded her in death, one died in infancy and the other at ten years of age.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband and daughter, Mrs. A. B. Stratton of Exeter, her son, Julius of Wymore, one sister, Mrs. Alice F. Downing of Salt Lake City, Utah; besides three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church by the Rev. Allen Chamberlain at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 28. Members of the O. E. S. attended in a body. Interment was in the Exeter cemetery.
