JACOB G. GRAY.
Jacob G. Gray died at his home in
the village Saturday morning, Jan. 4,
aged 71 years and ten months. He
had been ill with heart trouble for
some time and was taken suddenly ill
Friday with pneumonia, and only lived
a few hours, being unconscious most
of the time. The greater part of Mr.
Gray's life has been spent in
Sheffield, except a few years in
Barton or Evansville. He was highly
respected by all who knew him He was
a good neighbor, a kind friend and a most
devoted husband and father. He has
always held some office of trust in
town affairs and was a man of good
sound judgement. He was a member
of the G. A..R. and his army record
was an honorable one. He was also a
member of the grange. Funeral at
his late home Monday afternoon; Rev.
Mr. Newton of Brattleboro officiating.
