Eugenia Beane

HATTIESBURG Eugenia “Gene” Rowland Beane died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in Hattiesburg. She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in New Albany. She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Stetson University in Deland, Fla., and a master of arts degree from William Carey College. For 28 years she taught in public schools in New Albany, Tupelo and Hattiesburg. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg, where she participated in numerous activities. She was an active member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, holding various offices. Her involvement with liberal arts continued throughout her life. She was the widow of Warick Bias Beane.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Albany Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home of Hattiesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three children, Jamie Bean Joyner, Betty Beane Pederson and Warwick Bias Beane Jr.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be in the parish hall of the church two hours prior to services.

Memorials may be made to Hattiesburg Civitan Camp for Retarded Children, c/o Bob Johnson, P.O. Box 1606, Hattiesburg, Miss., 39403 1606.
