First Pembroke Boy to fall
Pte J Everett Anderson is the first Pembroke boy to give his life for the Empire. He was wounded on August 18th in the hip, the bullet lodging near the spine, and after two operations spinal meningitis developed, resulting in his death.While Pembroke has had several boys wounded at the front, this is the first Pembroke boy to fall.
